What does your rating in the workplace look like? What are the best practices? In order to accelerate in and excel at their career, what skills are necessary for the designers? BPOVIA and some of our business partners surveyed a small but geographically diverse group of hiring managers in the hope of learning about the skills they seek in creative talent beyond visual communication abilities.Woking in a team

Ninety-four (94) percent told BPOVIA that it is important to work on teams in a collaborative manner. Specifically, they related this to the creative sector where give and take on ideas can make a difference. From the understanding of BPOVIA Graphic Design Service team, this means you can never fully explore the solutions and succeed in the projects without the ability to work in tandem. Egos or proprietary attitudes don’t have much room. Although creative ownership is much appreciated, it needs to be balanced in the group setting. BPOVIA designers have seen these characters transferred to reference checks and job briefs. When a person is looking to land a new job but the a past problem in the workplace surfaces indicating that the person is not a “team player”, BPOVIA believes this is going to lead to a failing opportunity in most cases, which is an irreparable result. You can find the phrase “team player” everywhere in verbal and written job descriptions, since it’s a quality required by everyone.

Seventy-six (76) percent added that teaming is important that teaming is important on multidisciplinary projects. For BPOVIA Graphic Design Service team, in a business climate that calls for the combination of many skills to produce complex approaches. In most cases the creative people are required to work on a team matrixed with brand strategist, account manager and people with different skill sets. Over the years the integration process has been continuous and ongoing. For people who know how to communicate to a broad audience externally and internally, the bar has been raised constantly. BPOVIA Graphic Design Service team defined the being able to be a meaningful member of the team as the ability to express yourself to those who have a broad variety of views and different training.

Thirty –five (35) percent stressed on that they are willing to hire those who can work well with non-creative people such as those who have MBA degrees. BPOVIA takes this a reflection of how the teams and workforce in creatively driven companies have become inclusive and sophisticated in recent years. On the other hand, it is reflexes the communication challenge that everyone, including the people in non –creative role face on the team.

In conclusion

At BPOVIA we believe that there is no way that you can work in a vacuum and everyone is a part of the whole. This applies to small companies, multi-office cooperation and international communication conglomerates. Every single aspect of your communication style counts – including attire, attitude, talent, choice of language and personal drive. How you interact with others and how you express ideas is an important part of the equation. For BPOVIA designers, talent is obviously coveted, and yet an inflated sense of self is not. One of our designers has put it in a rather humorous way: “we are done working with self-inflated egos or the ones who have no idea how to work with others. We have seen plenty of those.”
